I met Dr Whitcomb near my home in Melbourne, Australia around 1992. The things I learnt that weekend are still in my head. I'm now a 38 year old Pastor ministering in Psychiatric hospitals and to street people believing firmly not in my wisdom but in the power of God's Word. Even people who are declared insane have moments of clear thought when I open the bible and ask them to read what is written. Thank you Dr Whitcomb! Praying for you mate. I first had the privilege of meeting Dr. Whitcomb back in the 80's and always try to see him when he is in the general area (within 100 miles!). One fond memory I have of him is the time he stayed with us in Pennsylvania (as he was speaking at Calvary Baptist Church). I walked into the living room and to my surprise, this great theologian and world-renown speaker is reading a book to my 3 year old son, who is sitting on his lap - taking it all in! It certainly reminded me of Jesus' words in Matthew 18, "And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me." How we thank God for the many opportunities we have had to fellowship with such a choice servant of His! Onward! Submitted by Greg Harden on 2006-09-19:
I can remember some M.Div classes in the late 1980s when Dr. Whitcomb's health did not allow him to be present to lecture in class. He and his wife graciously allowed us students to pile into their home to learn for many weeks. I learned much of the Genesis material I still use while sitting on the carpet in their living room. Thank you for your ministry! Submitted by David Brenneman on 2006-01-31:
My first experience with Dr. Whitcomb was years ago in the early 90's...I had the very distinct privelage to help set up the mass production and editing of many of his lectures on tape. The Book of Daniel is my favorite and no matter how many times I go through it with Dr. Whitcomb on audio (MP3 actually)...I learn something new and it's always refreshing. By far he's the most Godly man I've ever encountered in my short time on this earth. I'm very glad to learn from him and for a short time to work for him. Keep up the great work! Keep running the race... Submitted by Mr Prabhat Barot on 2005-11-15:
I am a Christian converted from Hinduism. I first heard Dr Whitcomb at Spurgeon's Metropolitan Tabernacle in London,England in the 1970's. His messages on Creation have proved to be very helpful to me and my wife. We thank the Lord Jesus for raising a faithful man of God who is able to teach and inspire others.
